Above The Ground

by Some Random Human   Nov 21, 2010

It's a sad, sad song,
I've been singin' all along,
it's too late to get it right,
but too hard to get it wrong,
do you hear the sounds I make,
and I know it's my mistake,
now that it's in the light,
it's far too much to take,

Did you see me on my knees,
that's when I start to pray,
or did you see me on my face,
well, you left me that way,
did you see me on my head,
my world is upside down,
I swear that I am dead,
just above the ground,

There's not much I can say,
to make you wanna stay,
'cause no matter what I do,
you just turn away,
and I'm dying inside,
this pain, I cannot hide,
my heart is torn in two,
along with my pride,

Did you see me on my knees,
that's when I start to pray,
or did you see me on my face,
well, you left me that way,
did you see me on my head,
my world is upside down,
I swear that I am dead,
just above the ground,

So now I'm on my knees,
just begging you please,
but you just turn your back,
and walk away from me,
you know this isn't fair,
I don't think you even care,
as a matter of fact,
you were never really there,

Did you see me on my knees,
that's when I start to pray,
or did you see me on my face,
well, you left me that way,
did you see me on my head,
my world is upside down,
I swear that I am dead,
just above the ground,

Did you see me on my knees,
that's when I start to pray,
or did you see me on my face,
well, you left me that way,
did you see me on my feet,
wondering around,
I swear that I'm deceased,
six feet above ground,

Well, it's a sad, sad song,
that I've been singin' all along,
and it's too late to get it right,
but too hard to get it wrong...
