Head First

by silvershoes   Nov 29, 2010

I liked it better when
you didn't exist and I could
focus.

I liked it better when you
were on paper -
your lips remained
unkissed.

Now,
when you're gone,
I need you back.

You're in my mind when you're
two
or two thousand miles
out of reach.

You're in my thoughts when
you stare into my eyes,
or
you're at my front door,
waiting -
I think about you then.

If I let you in, I know
you're ready and
hoping I'll give you
everything.

Your feelings
are not what frighten me.

The fear preventing me from
letting us run amok; from
loving deeply,
simply... is this:

Someday,
what am I going to do without you?

This piece really touched my heart.

what am I going to do without you?

The fear of being without the one you love is clearly felt in your words. It makes me think if I knew what it was going to feel like I would have never fallen in love.
    Excellent job!
    Congrats on your win
    Take care

I wish I had the ability to write about your poem in the style of a true critic but I only know what feels right to me. What sounds right and awakes my senses of enjoyment when I read them
congrats for this is truly a winner
