In the Rain

by East Poetry   Nov 30, 2010

Recently I've learned a lesson,
Most words cannot explain.
Like the impact of a quite moment
Standing in the rain.

I was caught up in the fire,
Yes, the furnace of her love.
And I took it all for granted,
when she pushed I didn't shove.

So stupid in my thinking
she would always just hold out.
And await for my commitment.
For my "trying" to come out.

Why I didn't try more?
I simply know not why.
So far she had been perfect.
I let it all slip by!

This lesson here I’ve learned in life,
An awakening in pain.
Now all that I can do here
...is stare into the rain.

Don't let amazing in your life,
Without giving amazing back!
Don't ever think “their giving”,
is a happy one way track.

For you could lose the greatest thing
ever put into your life.
Not only lose a soulmate,
but lose a perfect wife.

Written from the heart with true emotions. We must really cling to something good we have or we risk losing it. I must also say that the endng was amazing.

    Learned--learnt

'Don't let amazing in your life,
    Without giving amazing back!
    Don't ever think their trying,
is a happy one way track.'

This is the only part I did not like. 'Amazing' didn't work for me. Consider revision.
Overall, still a good read. Keep writing :)

Oh. :( This one saddened me, because it is so, so very true. If you do not try you will never succeed.
    Carpe Diem my friend. :)
