The Painful Truth

by running out of lies   Nov 30, 2010

Tell me, does red remind you of
your love with her
or the blood I spilled for you?
If you can answer this question
honestly
then you can say you were true
all along

Tell me, have the petals drawn you
to that red rose
or was it the thorns?
Considering you threw the petals
over her
I guess I'm left with the hurt,
just like the old days

{ you broke me }

I'll tell you, the initial you carved
on your wrist
will never completely heal
even if you turn it into hers
you'll remember
it's me who you tried to die for
and you love me

I'll tell you, when she sings you
our song
I swear you will hear my voice
as if it was me standing next to you
and not her
cause I'm the only one you ever loved
and you still do

{ you broke me}

Hit me between the eyes
with a lie
and I promise I will stab
your heart
with a more painful
T R U T H :
I never changed
and
never will

{ I shattered you }
