Its True Form

by Katie   Dec 3, 2010

My love has not dissipated
Nor has it roamed free
I keep it very safe
Right here with me

I share it with you
Across the great plain
In hopes that maybe
It will ease my pain

This love is fragile
Tends to be rare
Hold it close to you
It's only fair

When confronted
Remember this part
No matter what
You have my heart

This was such a sweet poem and rekindled inside of me that hunger for love. I realized here that metaphors and an overdose of adjectives is not what necessarily enhances the poem, it the feeling, what touches the reader. Great work, please keep writing.

God bless you and your family this Christmas.
