In Love At Last

by Bradley Peter   Dec 7, 2010

A dead'd dream of my demise,
I saw it once, inside your eyes,
Finally, you have laid to rest,
Dreams of blades into my chest,

And I have come to grow quite fond,
Of you, and this unwanted bond,
Even pardon your lips upon my cheek,
With your crumpled and misshapen beak,

Perhaps dreams now are of my spine,
And hit me as I'm feeling fine,
Or perhaps a simple, sleeping slumber,
Will be my everlasting blunder,

Perhaps it's best to stay wide-eyed,
And keep a shotgun by my side,
For if you tippy-toe my direction,
I fear it not with utter affection,

Or could it all be in my head,
And you be true to words you said,
Wanting to be two beating hearts,
And finding inside the hidden parts,

I must admit of such wishful thinking,
And yielding to such an honest inkling,
Could these clouds be parting above,
And at long last we have fallen in love?

Thank you. This is one I've always liked. I'm glad that others have enjoyed it, too. Though, I'm intrigued that you thought it sweet. You're obviously a very loving, positive person
