Frozen memory

by Nil   Dec 7, 2010

The snow falls slowly
Blanketing as far as the eye can see
In the distance there is a figure
Blurry and almost unseen

If you were closer
You'd see her shivering
With tears frozen on her face
Her bottom lip quivering

From the frigid air
And the shattered heart inside
Wanting to scream out
But only able to sigh

Each breath visible
Then dissipating in seconds
Like everyone in her life
The only thing she remembers

Now though, only her shadow
And familiar feeling of freezing
Are the only things she knows
As she walks away...

Eventually even the snow will forget her
Once her footsteps disappear
She'll a shadow of a memory
Always in the back of your mind
But never actually there~
