Being Myself: Lesson Learned!!!

by Ismelda Yvanna Peralta   Dec 10, 2010

"Those who fail to plan, plan to fail."
These are the words I've learned growing up.

It is funny how life works.
One minute you are somewhere and nowhere the next.
If you don't realize this philosophy, you won't get anywhere.
It is what life is all about.

"I lie the loudest when I lie to myself.
If I lack the courage to start, I have already finished.
One thing I can't recycle is wasted time."

These words were written when I was going through an emotional breakdown, which soon became my emotional roller coaster.

These feelings were...
The ones that felt like the end of the world,
The ones that blinded me from the light toward finding myself,
But with them I have learned,
I learned to be myself.

These EMOTIONS feel real because they are a part of us.
They are WHAT make us human.
They are WHAT make us equal.
They are WHAT make us unique from the rest of them.
And with THEM I have learned.

I have learned wasted time.
I wasted time thinking about my past.
I wasted time wondering why I was not chosen instead of the others.
I wasted time being stuck finding the wrong person to fall in love because I never got the chance to be loved by another individual.

But with that, I have learned.
I have learned to let go.
I have learned to love again.
I have learned to be a leader.
I have learned to love MYSELF.

Learning is a long-term experience that Life wants us to master.
It wants us to be strong leaders towards the near future.
I have learned to find positive people like me and find ways to make dreams a natural reality.
And to me this is the greatest feeling in the world.

Helping others is what I have learned to do.
And I am happy to take my mission wherever it takes me.
It is part of who I am and NOBODY will change that.

Staying strong is part of my Heritage.
It is part of my life.
It is part of what being LATINA is all about.

This helped me keep my distance from people that intend to hurt me.

Being Latina is my strength.
Having the opportunity to change a life is my new attitude in this world.
And I hope to help yours.

Lesson learned, saves a future blame. Failing to plan, is bagging shame. Planning on time, is saving blames. The difference, lies within Time-lap.
