Unfamiliarity

by mckenzie   Dec 15, 2010

The years roll pass
never to stop
for one second
to become familiar with these faces
i've lived amongst
all this time

perfect strangers
with happy faces
they come, they're here, they're gone

and its haunting me...
constant insecurities
where have i lain these twenty-one years
to only now... come to life

or have i?

barely breathing
but i am screaming
if only to catch my breath
this face that i've known, kept inside
is fading with everyone else

Favorite line: "i am screaming / if only to catch my breath." Well-said...I can relate.
