Within A Secret

by Alicia   Dec 20, 2010

A friendship grows and blossoms
Into something so much more
Both together hoping
to find something they can restore

Every moment fragile
and every kiss untamed
They both have found peace
In each others names

Something so easily broken
must be handled with care
Both are holding back
because yet, they do not dare

This love is a whisper
Hidden from the world
Neither of them wanting
For their lives to be unfurled

Secrets breed only trouble
Lies to others bare
Tearing them apart
Although they are unaware

How long can they live
With the silence they create
Broken hearts are made
With the decision to wait

So the dance continues
And though it maybe ours
They hold each other close,
So close and yet so far

The waiting may break them
And the rumors destroy
But she holds on to the hope,
And in that she finds her joy

I really liked your poem! I enjoy that your writing style and structure is similar to some of mine, which is in fact what I've been searching for when I read poems. Thank you for that! I enjoyed the read and the content is roughly similar to my position without the disloyalty..thanks again.
