Broken

I took a risk with you when I found your broken heart,
I swore to help it heal carefully, so we'd never be apart,
My heart has always been broken but I'd never really cared,
Then you came along, I promised to always be there.

I remember how broken you were far beyond repair,
My heart was just as broken, we could both compare,
you showed me things in a relationship, I never even knew,
We went through so much together, my love each day it grew.

Those moments in time when I'd show you my love,
Those exact moments you took it to shove,
Taught me so many things that I should never forget,
I promise my life with you was not a regret.

In time I may forget those beautiful moments with you,
But in life there's so many new things to do,
