Lonely Nights

by honeybump   Dec 28, 2010

Every night she lights a candle,
not knowing sometimes how to handle.
Laying beside an empty pillow,
still she lays there sweetly mellow.

The day has gone,
at least it's passed,
counting up the weeks,
until he finally comes back.

The candle flickers,
her eyes grow heavy,
his face appears,
she's smiling widely,

His familiar scent warms her,
as he embraces her in his arms,
whispering sweet, "i love yous,"
and reassuring her, he won't get harmed.

Quickly she is awakened,
his face has gone away,
she looks at her calendar,
and begins counting down the days.
