Need

by Rhi   Dec 28, 2010

I have this need you see,
A need which I have hidden,
From all who would see,
From all who would know.

Every day it is not sated,
It grows and pulsates against my skin,
Begging, pleading, writhing,
The need I hide from you.

Yes you, even the people,
Whom I do not know,
I hide it from you as well,
It must be hidden.

It must be hidden,
Lest it seeks to escape,
From beneath my control,
And damage all those.

Damage all those,
For whom I care,
Those I care not,
Even the unknown.

The need grows stronger,
Each and every day,
It calls to be satiated,
In the most simple of ways.

It calls for blood,
It calls for pain,
It calls for that which,
I cannot, no will not give.

If I give in now,
I fear it too late,
To stop it taking control,
Of my heart and my soul.
