Roses

by Max Krakers   Dec 28, 2010

I wanted to bring you roses.

A red rose for every week that I loved you,
A blue rose for every day that I missed you,
And a yellow rose for every moment I thought about you.

I searched far and wide but found only disappointment.

The red roses looked withered
the blue roses where purple
and for every yellow rose I had, three more where missing.

As I gave up my search I noticed a rose bush.

And my eye fell upon
a single white rose,
pristine, pure, in each and every way perfect.

This little flower shall I bestow upon you.

For in its white petals
hide all the colours
that describe my feelings for you.

Which makes this rose

perfect,
precious,
and pure.

Just like you...

Yet nothing last forever,
our love was lost.
the rose resembles me now.

Thorny,
withered
and cold.
