An unshattered egg

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 1, 2011

I think for myself and bury my dreams
where others have dried the soil,
yet watching from opposite windows
makes my lips grin from a distance.

Like raindrops leaving separate petals
and flowing into one unsurpassable body,
my spouse and I will someday collide
in between ocean's mirth and sky's border.

I can only open the stars further
and watch their fiery halos lead on,
while they carry hopes and fears
of a lonesome mind, a lunatic spirit.
