Primeval Soup villanelle

by Michael D Nalley   Jan 3, 2011

We evolved from primordial soup
Though we may not have had an eve
We were always part of a big group

Mankind is still mostly made of goop
The uncertain may conceive
We evolved from primordial soup

Stand up straight, we must never stoop
We will become what we believe
We were always part of a big group

It was us that would have to snoop
For the fruit we should not receive
We evolved from primordial soup

Our Father was not a nincompoop
No spirit willing to deceive
We were always part of a big group

Deep in our soul we must recoup
The eternity men receive
We evolved from primordial soup
We were always part of a big group
