A bruise is a minor injury. Its your bbody'snatural response when something impacts your skin. The skins not broken, but the blood vessels under your skin? Yeah, those break open. At first its red. Then maybe black, purple, green, yellow who knows. But its appearance changes as your own immune system rushes in to clear it up. Bruises dont normally need much treatment, but if its bad enough? Maybe an ice pack. Decrease the swelling and the bruising. Some people bruise easier than others and bruises generally disappear in 2-3 weeks.
Bruises of the soul are much harder to mend. Its not a minor injury, but it is what happens when something hurts you. Your skin doesnt break, but beneath the surface? Youre bleeding out. Yeah... Your heart bursts open. At first youre in denial. Then youre angry. Then youre hurt. Then youre confused. All this time youre waiting for someone to rush in and save you. Clear this up for you. But no one comes because youre the only one who feels the hurt. Youre the only one who knows its there. These bruises need attention. Unfortunately.the cold spreads the wound. Some people bruise much easier than others. These bruises may disappear anywhere from 2-3 weeks to a lifetime.
