If Everything Is...

If everything happens for a reason,
why am I so focused on the past?
Why does this feel so wrong...?
That you aren't here in my arms.

If everything is meant to be this way,
why do I find myself crying out to you?
Why do I see you in my dreams?
So vivid and so realistic.

If everything is as it should be,
why does my heart feel so unsure?
Why do I reach out for you?
The memory slipping through my fingers.

If everything is so perfect in your world,
why does it feel like mine disappeared?
Why do I scream your name in the dead of night?
When I know that you're perfectly fine.

If everything is so great and clear,
why do I still wonder "what if?"
Why do I look for answers in pills?
They seem so friendly without you.

If everything is meant to be this way,
why are you still the only thing on my mind?
Why do I feel as if I'm still waiting for you?
When I know you aren't coming back...

You always present the feelings in a poem so very well that they aren#t only relateable most of the time, but cause the reader to feel exactly what you felt writing the poems. It's like that here too, the protagonist feels left and isn't over the break up yet the other person seems to have moved long ago and is perfectly fine. The questions as well as the "If" underline the speakers uncertainty and insecurity. Definately another great piece.
