    This is great! So descriptive of the youth our babies become and ours that we lose! Little do they know someday they too will become "their parents" staring at their own "cantankerous" youths!...and watch out for pay backs! Good job!

    Well you opened the poem well I liked the last two stanzas the best

    "I find myself
    staring into the fountain
    of youth.
    Sacrificing my maturity,
    to travel back decades
    to remember exactly what
    my immaturity looked like.

    Yet I can't seem to find it,
    perhaps -
    because the well has dried
    from all the hot air ...

    he blows"

    really well put! and a good way to end the poem.

    Love the piece. How many times I wnated to say as my son grew. "Someday you will have one just like you and then you will know how I feel" I remember my mom saying the same exact words to me....LOL...and one day they will and then remember those times when they thought they were grown and knew everything.
