Solitude

by Cassandra   Jan 20, 2011

Stained hands withered from tears wept
eyes bury a soul, where the words write the story that is kept
broken and shattered through the glass reflection
stolen in innocence to fade in such deception
laughing at woes not understanding yet the reason
still standing in the shadows midst of last years dark cold season
blinding were my strides of pain self inflicted
placing pieces of the puzzle easily predicted
this kingdom viciously created only to burn
flames devour each escape in every turn
fearing the suffocating black churning smoke
unable to cry for help to be woke
so many lies hallow from treacherous walls built
violently barricading dreams to only swim in guilt
endless has this all become to seem
agonizing to realize this truly is not a dream
losing where to go after so many broken years
in solitude i struggle to wipe my tears

The last two lines are amazing, a really great poem with a lot of emotions. Great read. Thanks.
