Can Come True

by Lil Vamp   Jan 20, 2011

-This poem is about the car crash that took my family away. This is my real story. Comments would be appreciated.-

People say dreams can come true
I have the same dream every night
It starts with a rain drop
I hear it hit the metal
The sound waves take over my soul
I remember the laughter
And the faint smile
That I thought I would see forever
The radio blasts the same song
The same song it does every night
I glance at the clock
"We're going to be late"
The windows start to fog
As the clouds settle in the valley
The rain starts to get harder
The road begins to flood
And like my life it washes away
The red stop sign comes into view
Suddenly there are two bright lights
Aiming right at us,
I hear the screams
And the soft roar of the engine
We cannot move,
The car has flooded and
Become a giant coffin
The squeal could wake the dead
The truck hydroplanes
White and red metal merges as one
The sudden bang jolts us back
I remember hearing the crack
And then... rain
One rain drop after another
Falling upon my pale skin
And I slip into the darkness
I awake in the same room I fell asleep
With the warmth of my covers
And the silent beat of my heart
Just to remind me with each beat
'You're still alive'
Some times surviving is the worst torture
So let me tell you
Yes, dreams can come true but
So can nightmares..

I can fully comprehend the feelings youre having when you wrote this. I really do...
You did great in capturing your emotions and placing it in this sad poem. This is beautiful, sad, but beautiful nonetheless.
