Unrequited

by Jenna Bella Oldridge   Jan 20, 2011

Function like a robot
No emotion here
All thought no feeling
Sentiment disappears

Heart numb to stimuli
Soul unresponsive too
Lost inside the emptiness
Because I cannot feel for you

So sorry unrequited
I have to let you down
Abdicate you from your thrown
And confiscate your crown

I love the word choice and rhyme scheme but more importantly it made a point that it took me so many years to figure out, that there is no way to control how we feel about another no matter how much they feel for us and vice a verse I love it

Holy cow! I don't think I've loved a short piece poem as much as this one. Your word choice really made it for me!

The stanza Rob pointed out is by far my favorite as well and thats funny his interpretation is EXACTLY what mine was because I've been in that situation and I totally read it like that....very nicely written ...That ending stanza was awesome!

Wow, this is amazing. So simply written but very well worded. I especially love the last stanza. It sucks to feel anything for someone you used to or once loved...
