Echoes

by Tony Casale   Jan 22, 2011

I am a soldier
Though I do not kill
My battles are won
With my own free will

Unarmed I do stand
Just to hold the breech
No weapon in hand
But freedom of speech

For my speech can not
And will not be killed
No matter how much
Faultless blood is spilled

My words will linger
To the break of dawn
My voice will be heard
Till the echo's gone

    The pace is just awesome!

To correct the syllab. count, I suggest you change these verses to make them 5 syllab:

    ^^ (Unarmed I stand) --> (Unarmed I do stand)

^^ (To hold the breech) --> (Just to hold the breech)

^^ (But the freedom of speech) --> (But freedom of speech)

^^ (Innocent blood is spilled) --> (Faultless blood is spilled)

^^ (Until the echoes gone) --> ('Till the echo's gone)
    -----------
Please take these into consideration! The poem would be perfect :)
    GREAT JOB!
