For Emana

It's been 10 years, you know.
Since we've grown our friendship,
Since we've grown our love.
May 16th is coming by so quickly,
I haven't gotten a chance to say everything yet.

For Emana--

She can make a whole room stop and stare--
her beauty radiating,
her smile making her glow,
those hazel eyes of hers,
and her red hair, that stands out, even on a gloomy day.

She was there when everything looked blurry,
when I called her name from my hospital bed,
when I need a shoulder to cry on,
and when I needed someone to just be there and say,
"Screw him, lets go watch a movie."

The memories we created shall last for a lifetime and more,
the secrets we have shared will always stay between us,
the laughs we made will turn into everlasting wrinkles,
and the love we grew will be a towering tree one day.

"Don't cry,"
She would say,
"I'm never going to leave you."
Sometimes it's so hard to believe when where she is headed seems so far.

She's growing up,
high school graduation is not the end,
It is the beginning of her new life.
It's the beginning of her mingling with new people,
sharing laughs, and tears with new people
it is the beginning of her adult life.

I'm going to miss that warm embrace of hers,
and when we were out in public and she'd turn to me and say
"Lemme kiss yer little nosey."
And I'd turn away shyly.

A saint,
a goddess of beauty,
master of all things kind and wonderful,
and I can say, I'm truly blessed,
to have a sister as great as her.
