Johnny Reb

by Michael D Nalley   Jan 30, 2011

When Johnny came marching home
All races were allowed to roam
His business was a free enterprise
But the yanks had another surprise

In order to grow our government
We will tax cotton to supplement
All the services you once got free
America will be better you s

"Let my people go" was a great demand
The free headed for the promise land
To get employed at the northern textiles
All were welcomed with the next smiles

It looked like such a happy ending
While all the heroes were pretending
Then along came a troubled king
He kind of stirred up everything

What would make US of A better
Than to take a look at the letter?
Ulysses Grant wrote to Robert E Lee
Saying no need for you to thank me
