Hide and Seek

by Chelsey   Jan 31, 2011

Like a scar covering perfect skin
the shadows of dusk cover me
Darkness concealing my sins
Blanketed by the blackness
of our solar system

Praying He's still searching
Believing He can not see
secrets I am hiding
in the deepest corridor-
of the immoral night

Running from conviction
I bury myself
in a bottomless hole
Solitude and guilt
suffocating my every move

Twilight comes forth now
Rays of light become ablaze
I must remain invisible
Hoping He's still searching
for my righteousness

Omnipresent and omniscient
witnessed my fugitive journey
and shoveled me out of the hole
A game not to be played with God-
Hide and seek

I really like your unique style of writing. I like the feeling of this poem, sad yet filled with the truth. Sometimes we hide our deepest self and desire. I believe there is a part of us, that will only belongs to us, but exceptions are, when we found that one who truly deserve we will let them in. I like the double meaning of this poem. Sometimes even with eyes wide open, still there are things that even looking on became invisible. Very well done, kel.

Great title, I am not sure it was ur intention to have the reader think back when they played hide and seek with a long time ago friend, but you certainly did that to me. Great memories and great poem.
