Lioness

by Lioness   Feb 3, 2011

Lioness, frail under the sun

Tortured by the darkness of their souls

There's no where to run

She hides under the shadows of the trees

Trying to find her protected land

Knowing it may never be seen

Lost the will to fight for her justice

So she waits patiently

Believing she is worthless in life

Her courage dies undoubtedly

Certainly a touching, sad write for a lioness. For a lioness, there should never be any sadness, nor any regrets, for she is a breed that all mortals fear. Perhaps she lost her mate to another lioness. 5/5

Just a tiny suggestion on this line:

Tortured by the darkness of their souls

Is it supposed to be :
Tortured by the darkness of souls (or its soul).

Excllent poem. I really liked the title too. I also liked how you used the word "Lioness" in your poem it shows how even the strong can fall and how deep courage can go
