I remember it from the start,
Gleaming eyes and sullen smile.
You raced back into my heart,
And stayed there for a while.

It's been way too long,
And you haven't been around here.
I knew because it never felt wrong,
That our lives had never been so clear.

Up and down and all around,
You and me, and everything to lose.
This between us was so profound,
Too deep for us to refuse.

One day it wasn't enough,
And you were too fast to outgrow.
I was no diamond in the rough,
But you were already letting go.

Day by day, I've been here on my own,
Wondering where I could have gone.
My heart diving into the unknown,
My mind already lost in moving on.

I supposed tomorrow is another day,
Yet yesterday seems frozen inside of me.
So close once, and now so far away,
