Transformation

You can't change it,
That light dying in her eyes,
Stars have pierced her heart,
Fallen dreams fill her veins.

Your deceit fills her lungs,
Making every breath struggle to be free,
She feels as though she's dying,
Worlds cascading down around her.

Mind a twisted mass of confusion,
Trying to remember what was real,
Memories contorting,
Nothing was ever what it seemed.

You'll never take it,
That fire brewing in her eyes,
The inferno your betrayal has ignited,
Flaming desires of freedom.

What your fists and words could not kill,
Will once again make her whole.

    I wish I had come across the poem sooner so I could nominate it, it was amazing. Maybe I'm in a certain place in my life were my emotions are resurfacing but this poem truly hit me. The emotions you expressed were ones I could relate with and although the scenario might have been different, I know how it feels to watch as dreams fall into pieces and the fire starts to go out. I'm really happy I read this because it was truly beautiful. I love every moment of it.

    A very powerful write from you as usual. I have walked in these shoes and know from experience that what doesn't kill us does make us stronger and is usually spme type of means for revenge. Great Job!
