The Blackout

by Stephanie   Feb 7, 2011

My heart was pounding in my ears
my stomach told me something was wrong
then it started
the scene around me began to fade
slowly as the dark surrounded
I tried to tell people I wasn't OK
but no one would listen
then I couldn't here out of my ears
and my head felt sure to explode
I leaned against the wall in fear
as I slid to the floor no one said a word
then as fast as it came it went away
and that's when people started to notice
they came rushing to my side
but I was already coming to
I sat in silence as my head stopped pounding
and I began to get back my hearing
and the cold black that I saw began to fade away.

What a beautiful poetic description of a vasovagal blackout. Amazing words, put together in such a vivid manner. 5/5
