A Scarlet Rose

by Whitney Graham   Feb 9, 2011

There he was
Standing in the night.
Moonlight shinning on his face.
His face is flawless and beautiful.
I walk up to him
And his hand touches my face.
I should flinch from his cold fingers,
But I dont.
He pulls me in close
And whispers in my ear,
I love you.
He gently takes a step back
And hands me a scarlet rose.
I say back, with tears running down my face,
I love you too.
He softly tells me that Im beautiful.
Then I step closer to him
And look into his brown eyes.
He looks into mine
And kisses me softly.
I turn my eyes to the star filled sky
And look at the moon.
Then I look back at him.
He brushes the stray hair from my face
Blown by the wind.
He wraps his arms around me
And kisses my cheek.
I whisper, Ill love you forever.
Then he says, Forever is a understatement
Of how long Ill love you.
