Taija

by Michael W Gutierrez   Feb 12, 2011

Ashes clung desperately to us,
as they danced from the burning sky.
In the moment we disintegrated into each other,
you whispered the tale of your broken heart to me softly,
as we staggered through the waste,
and the flame licked hungry at the darkness that consumed it.
Our solstitial mistress was a kind chaperon to my destruction,
teasing my lips as a cancerous lace crept from them and curled
upward into her breath.
I found myself lost in the omniscient still of your eyes,
and there I found three, which breathed life into me.
