It's the end of the summer,
Where have the years gone?
Schools almost over,
but our lives have just begun.
To all our friends
we'll say goodbye.
Soon we'll be on our own
making a new life.
That first transition
from high school,
to university
is always gradual.
There's packing to be done,
tears to be shed,
hugs to be given,
words of advice to be said.
For some there is excitement,
for others fear.
For being on their own
after so many years.
So many questions
only they can answer.
We're all searching and hoping
for that happily ever after.
Some will triumph
where others fail.
Some will not give up
while others begin to derail.
No matter what the end results may be,
no matter how bad things have turned,
how you come out of it
depends on what you learned.
To never give up on yourself
nor on your dreams.
Look for that silver lining,
and find the meaning in things.
This journey is far from over,
there is still time for yourself and for things to change,
for you to learn and to experience
before you announce your life adjourn.
You are a very wise lady Lizzie!
I love your mind, your words, your talent..your poems and attitude !
an excellent writing!
No matter what the end results may be,
no matter how bad things have turned,
how you come out of it
depends on what you learned
^^^that hits home for me..
what a philosopher.
however I believe if you add some more colors and less narration for this piece, it would leave a huger effect. Like if you can make these amazing messages a bit more lyrical..
Just these suggestions for this piece..
