Death Embrace

by Beautiful Chaos   Feb 22, 2011

Just forget the world, one minute,
We could be happy,
This madness in our heads,
Extinct.

Love's just a blur,
We didn't think before we got there,
Falling over the brink,
It's too easy, getting lost in the lies.

So simple to be a victim,
Lost in all you swore was true,
It was decided before you and I,
Heaven would fall.

Embraced every sin before the end,
We didn't need anyone,
Not even each other,
We forgot how to feel.

Chasing wasted dreams,
Things we knew would never be good enough,
But everything we were going to be,
No matter what they said.

Suicidal, broken, taken apart,
It made us happy somewhere inside,
It couldn't be that bad,
We smiled while we were dying.

You did not disappoint in this write. It packed emotions and imagery into it. You have always had a knack for knowing what to say and how to say it in your poems and leaving the reader enough without saying too much so they are to relate.

"So simple to be a victim,
Lost in all you swore was true,
It was decided before you and I,
    Heaven would fall."

^^ I loved this stanza and the ending is powerful. It somehow reminds me of the movie "The Devils Advocate" when at the end Al Pacino is giving his speech to Keanu Reeves.

    Wonderful Job
