My Friend

by WonderingSpiritDiaries   Feb 22, 2011

You are smart and unique
Sometimes you call me a freak
I'm older by three days
But you are mature in many ways

We sing and dance together
We have yet to become friends forever
When you are near the edge of tears
I try to make you laugh and forget all your fears.

Yes, I know my jokes are lame
But to tell them to you I'm not ashame
Because I know you'll laugh
And together, funny memories we will have

You are so nice and sweet
The most brilliant person I will ever meet
And when you feel like giving up on everything
I just want you to remember one thing:

"In order to succeed you must fail, so that you know what not to do next. " -anonymous

Great poem love how smooth the flow was. alot of poems with this stanza structure have the long secondary sentences that in my opinion ruin a poems fluidity. loved it :) 5/5
