Imperfect Symmetry

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 22, 2011

You lift my heart upon blurry horizons,
keeping in touch with my reminiscence.
Drifting away from the edges, I realize
who has made my heart swell- float.
For years I have scrambled
into masks too unfitting for my taste-
yet here in this open speech
the sun shows its dimples.
Even as you turn towards light,
dark winds will persuade your soul,
and yet I know which voice you will heed,
for you are filled with nothing but passion.

^You have no idea how powerful these words are, how much they make sense if you look between the lines. I loved how you described these people as 'masks' - this really emphasizes a lot that they are unfamiliar to you and you don't have interest in them. I almost feel as though this is so straight forward that you wouldn't need 'too unfitted for my taste' - but then again, it is nice to have that as it only packs more of a punch.

^This is very inspirational. I loved it.

    Beautiful :) That's all I can say.
