Fear

by Michael D Nalley   Feb 27, 2011

Fear

I shouted out today
To see if I could still hear
The silence went away
But I still have the fear

I looked into my heart
To see if I could feel
The images I saw
Seemed to be so real

As I listened for the beat
The rhythm stole my soul
It was then I felt the heat
The passion that is whole

I felt it in my mind
It tasted bitter sweet
Though I could not find
A reason to retreat

Do not be afraid
I have heard it said
You will have it made
When all fear is dead
