If love had a face

by Lady Nik   Mar 17, 2011

Eyes would not exist
once a stare is
engaged, a soul is
opened. Time has
taught me that
love lives without
a soul for its
eyes stay closed.

Lips like plastic
wash away any
warmth. Why kiss
love that taste
too close to death?
Solitude seems like
a better choice.

Skin cold and fragile
like barely frozen
ice cubes. One mistake
and you'll wither
within an eternal sea
of guilt and shame.
The scent of
deceit can never be
burnt away.

My hands have
held love and
I know now if
love had a face
it wouldn't be
love anymore.

Oh WOW!! THis is indeed a write that comes from deep within, a write that has tasted love's bad side..liked it!

    Skin cold and fragile
    like barely frozen
    ice cubes. One mistake
    and you'll wither
    within an eternal sea
    of guilt and shame.
    The scent of
    deceit can never be
    burnt away.

This stanza really touched me..well penned!
