Lying here in the grass

by Thomas Key   Jun 20, 2004

Lying here,
in the grass,
i think alot
about my past

it flashes by,
as I sit here,
and watch the sky

my hair moving to the wind
the breeze is soft and light
as i remember my sins,

the feel of the sun
is warm, and gentle,
and off in the distance,
a mother plays in the sand with her son.

The day grows dark,
the clouds become grey,
its the ending of may,
and I'm not about to miss my mark

as the rain comes down,
I don't even frown,
I keep my body on the ground,
as the rain,
barely makes a sound.

Now my clothes are wet,
i am soaked,
and I'm not longer upset.

I get up to head home,
I begin to roam,
and I look around
as I'm outward bound.
