Dig A Little Deeper

by Some Random Human   Mar 20, 2011

You said you'd had enough of me,
you couldn't handle my ways,
you said you had to leave,
you said you couldn't stay,
and I was begging you,
just for one more day,
but what can begging do,
when you're so far away,

Just dig a little deeper,
you'll see I'm not the same,
point another finger,
but you're the one to blame,
this hill keeps getting steeper,
and now here comes the rain,
your stench will always linger,
along with this pain,

I could never be like you,
I could never hurt you like that,
I could never do the things you do,
because my heart isn't black,
I could never break you down,
I'd always take you back,
but you treat me like a clown,
I think a heart you lack,

Just dig a little deeper,
you'll see I'm not the same,
point another finger,
but you're the one to blame,
this hill keeps getting steeper,
and now here comes the rain,
your stench will always linger,
along with this pain,

Every day I look to the sky,
and wonder if you'll ever return,
every day I sit and cry,
while my heart you burn,
it never ends, I'm always alone,
by now you'd think I'd learn,
but here I am by the phone,
I've called a million times, now it's your turn,

Just dig a little deeper,
you'll see I'm not the same,
point another finger,
but you're the one to blame,
this hill keeps getting steeper,
and now here comes the rain,
your stench will always linger,
along with this pain,

Just dig a little deeper,
and in the end you'll find,
that I'm the one who's leaving,
you'll be left behind,
there is no way to stop me,
now it is too late,
because there is no stopping,
this feeling that I hate,
and now I'll point my finger,
even though I am to blame,
if you dig a little deeper,
you'll see that I'm the...same...
