I am so sorry for your loss *hugs*

Loosing a family pet is probably one of the most traumatic events to experience.

Your poems clearly describes your love and how much Betty meant to you.

    *hugs* my dear

    Dearest Ingrid,

I know you will see Betty again up in Heaven...and just think, she is God's greatest creation.

This was a beautiful tribute and it is heart warming to all who read it....you remind me of St. Francis Ingrid because I know you spent your life with this beloved dog and she was more than family to you....I feel you have a deep love for all creation, and you have shown it in your kindness.

I am sorry for your loss Ingrid, I am always here for you and God is smiling down :)

    Love,
    ~MaryAnne

After months of absence i've mustered up the motivation to come here and, read the beautiful works of the many overly tallented poets/poetess.
I know for sure that you are the best among them, always bringing the masterpieces to life and leaving a smile on my face after reading your works.
But this one has trully brought the tears to my eyes for i'm a pet owner and know too well of the love that exist between animals and their owners...It breaks my heart everytime I read about an animal being neglected or abused and thank God that there is laws to protect them.
You've expressed overwhelming love and affection, for the loss of your dog, in this sad yet beautifuly penned piece. It is a part of the family and the grieving is as real as it is when a relative or a friend passes away.
Hang in there my friend...You definately will re-unite with her one day in heaven.
    Paul...

This sounds as if the words spilled out from your heart directly onto the paper.

    It's a wonderful epitaph.

Ingrid, that was a very heartfelt write. Losing a friend is NEVER easy, I'm sorry for your loss.

"You mended things, I never knew were broken."

    - I adore this line :)

I have a dog named Beau, and I love him to bits and pieces. It's funny how you used to word "shadow", I know just what you mean. He's there by your side at all times, he's part of you, you love him, he loves you. My mom calls him my little shadow... I feel for you, and I hope as time goes on you start feeling better.

A wonderful write, as always. You touch so many people.

    mandy :)

    Ingrid,
You mended that hole in her heart dear, you didn't let her down. I am sorry that your precious is gone, but just know that she is at rest. I know how much like children our pets become, sometimes it is hard to distinguish them from our children because we are so close. Awesome job on the poem, my heart breaks for you.

    Take Care,
    Kay

    Ingrid,
Growing up, I had a black Labrador called Ebbie (Ebony) and when I was 17, she died. I am 34 and can count myself lucky in that I have never lost a close family member yet.
To the point. Losing that dog is still (probably) the saddest day of my life - it took me months to get over - and I still get upset thinking about that day 17 years later.
People who have never had a dog often don't seem to understand how hard it hits you, do they?
A wonderful tribute, really well written.
    All the very best,
    Ben
