The Match

by Ladybugs   Mar 27, 2011

And yes, I am happy for you...you...you went out and found love! You're braver than I am...I don't face the world....I hide in my dark corner until somebody takes me out of the "timeout zone" and shines a light in my face and screams "ISN'T IT PRETTY???!!!!!" You've found another light...and someday that light might become your sun, and you will be the earth, evolving around your own sun. And yet here I am and I can't even light a match... well actually I can...I sit in my room sometimes and just light matches... It awes me how first you have to work at it, to get it to light...and then it does! And it's this beautiful light that gets to the point where it fizzes and a huge flare goes up, BOOM, POP, ZING,! It eventual comes to a steady glow...full of memories...laughter...love... :) .... But it never lasts... :'( ...the warmth, the light, always burns out. It has engulfed all that it can, and leaves the stub. It's too short to ever light again. And the greased tip, ready and waiting to easily light, is no more...and it never sparks again.

This is just from conversation that I had with a friend :)
