Betrayed

Darkness engulfed her entire surroundings,
She stood alone in the damp eerie fog,
Awaiting the safe arrival of her lover,
Unprepared for what she was about to uncover.

Devoted to him and all that he was,
Eager to lay her red lips upon his own,
Holding onto the memories and thoughts,
He never imagined that he would be caught.

He served his country, a respectable man,
Admired by many women other than his wife,
Unable to fight the temptation of her skin,
He granted himself access, deep within.

Time passed quicker than he expected,
There she stood, witnessing his betrayal,
Frozen upon train tracks, dazed with shock,
She died that night, at exactly three o'clock.

    This is a really good poem Jamie. Darkness fills your heart but you want your lover to be home with you in your arms. There is hope he will return to you. you leave our minds interested to keep reading in the first stanza here. You have hope at first then it seems to turn to pain. You twist our minda around to see what is next. It is very clear you love this person dearly and again there is hope for the kiss and then you twist it. What is he doing and why is he caught. I loved the first two stanzas as the build up is great here. You always want to hold onto the memories you hold for the one's you love.

    The twist comes to life as he cheated on you. It is hard for the temptation part. It is heart breaking to see how much a kind hearted person gets hurt from the one she loves. Women are very hard to resist I agree but it's even more difficult tostay loyal. O love the last line the most as ot shows you died inside. Time does pass quickly I agree. I loved this poem as it shows a strong message. That people can be loyal but it's hard to be. Distance is very hard to control. You are strong. 5/5

      Thank you James. This is actually one of the poems I created from my imagination. Most are based on my life, and though I have been cheated on before, this was not my story. I seen bits of it in my head and filled in the rest, right or wrong. Thank you though, I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
