Wow! This is such a beautiful poem... I loved the story you told, and it was definitely a very good collaboration, well done! I enjoyed the structure as well, I think it was perfect for this poem.

My favorite part was the second half:

"Bare, I surrender my thoughts to the sea
hoping I'll evermore be free.

(but)

rain visits and leaves, loading my heart, my soul,
with memories of you-
that I barely recognize to recall.

For I, the second stranger,
rests on the edges of your door, tapping pitifully once a day,
wondering if it's you who once breathed there,
and at times I have to admit,

I do not distinguish anymore."
