Cold Shower

by QuietDreamer   Apr 3, 2011

Beads of water gently fall
Softly kissing my cheeks
Cascades down and drowns my chin
Pitter-pattering on soapy tile

I've slipped and don't get up,
I choose not to stand
For if I rise I must continue
Prolonging the inevitable

Tears of acceptance trip over shelf
The water grows frigid,
My body quivers and my heart goes numb
As I watch my life run down the drain
