A Single Mom I know

(This is dedicated to all single mothers I bow my head to all of you)

I know this girl she's a single mom

beautiful, smart, and very strong

when times are hard she lifts her head

and turns her cheek when harsh words are said

she's been pushed, pulled, and torn

for she's received the rose of sharpest thorns

as words received cut so deep

her child's smile now helps her sleep

she struggles to work and expand her life

for she's the mother, the father, the husband, the wife

but when her babies smile up at her

she realizes all of her worth

and when she's tired and soar

and her strength is no more

she carries on she pushes on

as her children bring joy to her song

and when theres no reason to live

with nothing to give

as everythings wrong

a little voice says I love you mom.
