Bend

by Poet on the Piano   Apr 6, 2011

Sensational.

Raindrops are braided among our thighs,
constituting a belated sigh from black pants
dancing along restricted paths,
and white t-shirts soaked through skin.
You drown perfect sneakers in puddles
while reaching for my arm,
caressing it in awestruck symphony.

You fall to the cement,
knees swaying,
dreams open,
heart un-stitched,
waiting for me
to let go of a safe-ridden
life
and believe in trust.

Dropping my umbrella,
I pull you up to slide among
the autumn festive lights
that pool around our fingertips.

I take musky breaths in,
before I graze your lips
with a lonely taste.

How I have missed this embrace-
a third wing now in sight
for us to climb on skies
and release
sacrifice.

Such a friendship on fire
ready to write the world
a love song,
centered on hope
building the nations,
by your side
within true eyes.

And no more regrets
scold us,
so we dance in the middle
of a busy street
and watch as birds clap
with wonder.

We were made for love,
love by this instrumental ocean
of swelling hearts
where we sail in full destiny.

I can perfectly and clearly imagine everything like those of love stories and movies I've seen. I like how you end the poem so passionate and full of hopes.
