Innocence

by April Yorobe   Apr 7, 2011

There marches the man that catches her precious eye
Like a candlestick, he became her only source of light
Here comes the girl that dreams for that same old sight
Like a traveler, she searched for him with all her might

There lingers the man that she prayed for years
In a blink of an eye, he vanished in total darkness
Here lies the girl that begged for his presence
In a single breath, she stumbled hard onto her knees

There lives the man that she carefully chose
As he mold his own life, she listens to only his woes
Here cries the girl that has got everything to lose
As she pictures her life as his one and only muse

There goes the man that she loved nothing but truly
Without a warning, he ran farther and farther away
Here stands the girl watching that man move quickly
Without a clue, she stood in her place for hours wearily

There pleads that man willing to fix again her heart
Waited and waited, he eventually decided to depart
Here sits the girl that is left with the piercing hurt
Again and gain, she questioned her loving worth

There runs the man that longed for no one but her
Guilty and defeated, he cried a river as he remembers
Here dwells the broken girl that watches him suffer
Happy yet in pain, she sticks to what the freedom has to offer
