For Peace!

by Poet on the Piano   Apr 8, 2011

Hear our cries of devastation
while we fight for room to breathe,
crying out with no echo,
are we the only silence left?

Caught in between weaponry,
family deaths being unforsaken
how can we represent America,
if we are destroying our united land.

Hear us tonight, the attempts
today that have been unanswered.

No shooting of the sky
nor anger satisfied,
there is a calming God at hand.

He is riding toward us now
without judgement or regret,
I see his white beam shining
among bloody flags of years.
One shelter for us all,
one place of final light.
