Rules

by Michael D Nalley   Apr 14, 2011

We have broken rulers and broken rules
Using much repetition as our tools
The remedial results have been a lost cause
The universe is filled with natural laws

The truth is there is a strange paradox
In the mystic myth of Pandora's box
Our fantasy is a odd addiction
Blurring many lines between fact and fiction

I broke a rule and broke a trusting heart
I long relentlessly for a new start
There is no purification quite like sorrow
To heal the soul of yesterday's tomorrow

Intriguing! At first read i believed it to be simple and beautiful, on the second perhaps subtlely complex in meaning...but mainly i think it's just very well written.

    NIce piece Michael.
How many times are we left wondering about things.

The truth is there is a strange paradox
In the mystic myth of Pandora's box
Our fantasy is a odd addiction
Blurring many lines between fact and fiction

Will the truth ever be known? Or will everyone be left deciding their own facts and truths? Letting their minds run wild believeing what runs through?

    Great job on this one.
